Contrast the difference between Jesus sending out the 12 (Go ye) without money or a change of cloths to do kingdom work and the tremendous burden we carry with us when we go out
mortgage payment
auto payments
credit card payments
possessions
Is it any wonder that we are less effective. What solder in the army would go into battle with such useless possesions. He would quickly tire and grow discouraged.
So will we if we view possessions and money as ours.
The more stuff you have, the more stuff you have to worry about!
There is something to be said for simplifying, As in the Christmas sermon, but not just at Christmas.
