sorry this kind of doesn't have anything to do with your blog. but i have a question, im really young & my dream has always been to be a singer, dancer, and actress. and the good thing is i can sing, dance & act. haha but the thing is i dont have faith in myself & i dont belive that i can do it so when i think about that dream i get depressed because i cant fufill it.
i know we all have a purpose because God had everything planned out before the beginning of time but i really truely belive my purpose was to share my music to everyone.
i just need a really powerful scripture or someting that will lift me up & give me faith that i can do this & fulfill my dream. and i want to do it young so i can enjoy it longer & what not. i was just wondering if you had any advice on what you think or a real powerful scripture or maybe ?--
PASTOR ERIC'S NOTE: Part of the idea of a blog is to let others sound off. What would you tell this young person? Follow your dream or seek wisdom? Do we say 'go for it!' or something else?
Post your thoughts and let's discuss this. By the way, this is a real person seeking guidance!

I am touched and moved by your curiosity. Most young teenagers make decisions based on “looking good” or “being popular” and not based on God’s will/desire. For searching answers, YOU GO GIRL!
Do you think this is God's dream for your life? Go to Psalm 37 - read, reflect and pray.
I know that when one commits one's life to the Lord, He gives one wisdom and answers. This may be in your future, but if you have a solid foundation - one that is built on Jesus - you will be able to withstand the tough things that accompany this career track (just open the magazines and read the stories of what goes on with entertainers - scary, eh?). I know you will want to have God on your side, to protect you, if you decide to move forward. Also, as you make decisions, seek advisors (Psalm 15:22).
Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
I admire you for reaching out for answers and pray that you will take the right path – the one that God wants you to take. (You know, there are some incredible Christian singers, dancers and actresses.) Keep searching and asking.....and I’ll be praying for you.

I also love your curiosity, and impressed with your desire to please God. Mid life crisis are often people wakeing up one day and realizing that their dreams never came true.
The interesting thing is, Sometimes God's plan is bigger for ourselves than our own plans. Often times life looks really different than what you thought of or would have planned for yourself.
You might become a singer, dancer and actress, Being depressed about the future is really not going to help you get there. You are already feeling defeated before you have even started. focus on what you feel God is calling you to do. And work on your talents and develop them, you have to believe in yourself, No one will ever believe in you enough for you to believe in yourself. You have to get that from God. God believed in you enough to give you the talent it's up to him what he uses it for.
2 Timothy For I did not give you a spirit of fear, but one of love power and a sound mind.
(Be so thankful that God gave you wonderful gifts)
hebrews 4:16 I can find grace and mercy in time of need.
(try not to worry about the future, work towards your goal, but trust God's choices for you life, he knows you better than you know yourself)
Rest in the fact that God gave you talent, Use it to bring him Glory and see what he does with it.
God bless you for your courage, and for reaching out!
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.
These’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear; our presence automatically liberates others………
Anyway, I read that and I think that it is very powerful. I have a cross on my desk that states;” the Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your love o Lord endures forever” and another that states; ”you are the light of the world….let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven…..”
I think that she needs to attempt what she is dreaming of. It took me forever to get up and sing, and although I am still very self-conscious of what others might think - I know that I am just praising God and hope that others might do the same with me…….

It does not really matter what age you are. We can all have the hope of the Lord in are hearts. I wake up everyday thanking Jesus just for another day. Life is so precious. just stick to praying, And try to find a loving church that will support whatever you want to do in your life. I will make sure i will pray for you. Best of luck.
Do not let fear hold you back!!! Fear is not from God but from the enemy.
Be sure your choices in life are lined up with the Word of God, seek Godly counsel and do not base your plans or future on emotions.
"Perhaps ask God to open doors for you and to close those that you are not to walk through!"
I have often let fear hold me back in my life. We should always remember to trust with the Holy Spirit's leading.
God Bless you and I am proud of you to be searching and seeking.
Being a teenage myself, I fear the same and have the same concerns. I don't know what lies in the future or how to make it simplier, but to put it in The Lord's hands.
I fear that I will not have enough time for everthing that I want to accomplish in life. But when I look at this verse I feel the reassurance and peace the Lord brings to me:
"'For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope."
Jeremiah 29:11
This verse is great for so many reasons and I hope you get the same benefits out of it as I do.
